Discerning home owners sometimes choose to save the old structure and construct a new foundation to hold up the glorious home and therefore save a timeless building. In some cases the home is actually relocated to make way for a laneway home, coach house or townhouses and condos. Saving older artisan build homes is very rewarding and challenging work.
